A can for my commute
In our recent class with Maker Wine - I could not help but feel home sick. As part of the presentation they stated that it would be easier for them to sell wine in the UK than in Salt Lake. As a brit abroad I often miss the hustle and bustle of London. However - one thing I do not miss is the commute. Sat on a train at the end of a long day or long week is never fun. But sitting listening to the incredible founders of Maker Wines made me think. Their website states that - "wine deserves new rituals. Not fancier bottles or flowery labels. But new wine to drink and new ways to drink it. Wine that moves us, and also moves with us."
The concept of easily transportable wine made me think about the train journeys across the world I have taken. Sometimes travelling for a long weekend. Sometimes just heading home. There are many moments that I could have found a moment of bliss and enjoyed a can of wine. Many journeys with friends and colleagues. As they think about how they expand and reach new markets I hope that maybe one day soon we will find Maker Wine - in the cooler of a station store. Bringing us affordable luxury - no matter where we are coming from, or where we are going.
