For any product I enjoy, I like to understand the underlying business dynamic that shape it. In some ways, especially for consumer products and cultural offerings, I feel like I cannot fully appreciate the product until I understand the industry that produced it.
Secondly, as a person who typically operates in B2B industrial/manufacturing/energy contexts, this class is an excellent synthesis of several areas I haven't had much exposure to (B2C offerings, branding, marketing, family business dynamics) as well as ones that I have (highly regulated industries, growth strategy & sales, new product development).
Lastly, it's my last quarter at the GSB (I am a lingering joint-degree MBA3) and one of my new year's resolutions was to become more versed in wine. There's no better way to get that done!
