Why I'm taking this class

I am fascinated about the way in which this industry is evolving itself in highly creative ways.   I have a great respect for the "builders" of the industry....who do not stay in the easy "how things have always been done" - but rather seek to continuously reinvent it, thinking multiple horizons ahead.  I was fortunate to know individuals who put the Washington State wine industry on the map - starting with Ste Michelle.  The story echoes that of when California wines began to bring home awards from blind taste testings in international competitions.  I also am highly intrigued by how the "developing wine" markets are going about their efforts to establish themselves - with great investment - to be the next big growth stories.   Lastly, I enjoy the articles on the subject in the WSJ.   Here are two recent ones I believe are especially interesting, and touch on subjects we've discussed.
