Why This Class

Hi friends and fellow wine people!

I'm taking this class for a few reasons...

1 - I love to drink wine! Wine has always meant family, friends, and celebration in my life and I think it will be a ton of fun to learn more about the industry and trends behind the product. I'm also looking forward to meeting all the wine-loving and wine-curious people in our class.

2 - I'm taking a lot of OB and personnel-focused classes this quarter which I think will be fascinating, but seem decidedly light on tough analytic casework. I don't know a thing about the wine industry beyond my weekly observations at Trader Joe's, so I think the class will provide good practice getting up-to-speed on a complex global market and having that knowledge put to the test in the classroom.

3 - I've thought a lot about the functions I want to work in, but I'm open to many different industry routes. I want to consider to what extent passion or individual connection to a product change my level of motivation in various industries, and wine seems like a good place to start experimenting on that front.

4 - I look forward to awing my family and friends with wine trivia.
